I´m home, this is a mix of pictures from the last days in NY.
On the way to the zoo at Central Park.
A pretty small zoo but we got to see animals like penguins, sea lion, spectacular looking birds, red pandas among others.
On the way through Central Park. It was a warm and sunny early part of the day.
Downtown we went to a movie (free birds) and the across the street to Dallas BBQ to eat.
Then just a quick look in some stores and the day was over.
Elin found scrapbooking stuff in the Hello kitty store.
Today we decided to eat breakfast at the local diner we visited before. A lot more people here this morning.
Elin ordered same as last time, pancakes with strawberrys. I picked out a toast with chicken. And it was huge! Fries, 2 chicken filé and a lot of bacon. All of that under a mountain of cheese! Non of us finished the plates, I don’t even think I got half way!
Then we went downtown to check out the ferry’s to Ellies Island. On the way we found a pet store with puppy’s in the windows! Cute!
When we got to Battery park, the queues was to long so we decided not to go. From Battery park you could see Statue of liberty. A lot smaller then I thought.
We choose to walk through China town, Little Italy and Soho instead. Coolest car on picture above? VW bus!
Cool graffiti in China town.
Some stores are so packed it’s almost impossible to enter with a backpack!
Living fish in the shop window isn’t a pleasant sight. Stacked on each other in aquariums.
By far the biggest mobile crane I’ve seen!
On the way home we went through Central park.
We past by a group of break dancers from Bronx, awesome entertainers and dancers.
Today I’ve decided to visit 5pointz, a block totally filled with graffiti located in Queens. I’ve seen pictures online and the place looks amazing.
Isn’t it crazy, I’m looking for a placed called 5pointz, and when i came closer to it, a cloud shaped up like a 5, right over 5pointz! Someone wanted me to find the place
On the way to 5pointz I’ve met a fellow photographer who turned out to be a really really nice guy. I asked him to tag a long to 5pointz and he did. Thanks for the company Manuel, it was a pleasure to spend some time with you.
If you like street art and a urban environment, 5pointz is amazing! Some example of cool art here.
Passed by a colorful bike shop on the way back to Manhattan.
Crossed a bridge to Brooklyn by foot and …
…ended up on a Dunkin Donuts taking a bit to eat, while using their WiFi to watch weight ins to tomorrow’s UFC.
Did visit a small record shop to, amazed that there still is zines with cassettes with them!
After walking around in Brooklyn I found the metro. One thing that makes me sad is the homeless peoples situation. Heart breaking.
Downtown I met up with Elin and we got some hot chocolate at Starbucks.
Felt like storm up there!
How about the view? Windy, but wow! We visited Rockefeller center and the time was perfect with the sun lowering from the sky.
Can’t understand how anyone can like this Pretzel. (of course thought it was sugar on it, imagine the disappointment when I’ve bought them and took a bite, and it was salt?!) Elin liked them though.
We ended the evening with a visit to museum of modern art. A lot of different art there, from Monet, Andy Warhol to other artists I’ve never heard of.
My favourite from Museum of modern art was this chair!
Today i bought a 7day metro card. I then went out exploring on a small trip to Brooklyn. Fun!
Started at Hoyt street, then headed straight over the bridge to Brooklyn.
Its interesting just riding the metro, a lot of different people there!
Some cool entertainment in the metro.
Before i went to Brooklyn i passed by Time Square, where this guy sold umbrellas during the rain.
“- umbrella umbrella umbrella uuUUUuuumbrella”
A mixture of pictures from my parents home just south of Sundsvall at a place called Lubban.
The dock close to the house.
My brothers daughter Klara on the way back from a swim!
Also the docks.
Me and Elin out for a walk.
A chapel at Galtström.
Both of my brothers kids all together in one picture! A few years ago. From left, Klara, Lovisa, Hampus and Hanna.
My mother reads a book to Lovisa and Klara.
